How to install Mozilla Firefox OS in Under a 5 mins!

Ah, Firefox OS, Mozilla's (budget-centric) mobile OS. That's cute & all but, I bet you're itching to try it on your PC/Mac. I'm also betting you want it to be easy-peasy and painless, and what's easier than just installing an add-on in the Firefox Browser? And now, I'll show you how to do this.  First you wanna make sure that you have the Firefox browser on your Mac/PC, since the simulator is actually a Firefox add-on. I'll be using my Dell PC for this demo.

1. Launch the Firefox Browser
2. Go to this link (in Firefox) and select the OS your computer is running (Windows, Linux or Mac OS X)
3. Click "Allow" when it tells you that the site is installing software on to your computer, and it blocked it. It should start downloading
4. When it's done downloading, click Install
5. That's it! To access, go to Menu>Web Developer>Firefox OS Simulator
6. To run, click the "Stopped" Button. It should change to "Running" and launch the Simulator in a new window.

Enjoy! Hope this article helped you!

Dell Streak

Dell Streak. Dell Streak. Sound like something? Anything? Nudge, nudge. Yeah, that. Funny how if you think a lil' bit, you eventually discover something hilarious. That's why companies gotta be careful w/ their marketing. For more funny streak marketing click here (article in my other blog)

Android 4.2 Rolls Out to Galaxy Nexuses/Nexus 7s

Title says it all. If you own one of the aforementioned Nexuses then you should update now! Here is a list of the new features. You should be prompted. If you're not, then go to Settings>About>System Update>Check for Update. Have Fun! Gandalf: I envy you so much. You're Nexus gets updates so much faster than my Transformer!

Windows Joke-Microsoft Fans, Don't Read

All of you techies probably know that Windows has a reputation for being buggy. Now on to the joke... on the Microsoft site, it says that Windows 8 is built on the 'rock solid' foundation of Windows 7 LOL. Usually, when you think of rock, it's hard, solid and rigid. However, Sedimentary Rock is soft and crumbly. So I kinda modified the marketing to "Windows 8 is built on the sedimentary rock solid foundation of Windows 7!" For more awesome jokes, visit my dedicated joke blog, Joke Boss!

Nexus 10

That's right, the Nexus 7 now has a big brother, made by Sammy. It obviously runs stock Android 4.2 and has a beastly 10.1" 2560x1600 Super AMOLED screen (AWESOMENESS!) driven by a dual-core 1.7 GHz Exynos 5250 (sorry fellas, no quad-core, however the Exynos 5250 is sufficent enough to keep the thing  running smoothly) w/ 2GB of RAM, has a not-so-epic 5MP 1080p rear facer and a video chat-dedicated front-facing snapper. The Battery is a 9000 mAh one. The back is made of easy-to grip-plastic. And all that for $400 (16GB) and $500 to double the storage.

Gandalf here, reporting on the latest Android Jellybean update.
As Cyberpoodle said, Jellybean now has 'multi-user support' BUT i would not reccomend it as it severly slows your tablet. also, what is the point of having more than one account on a tablet?

Android 4.2-Jelly Bean 2: The New Features

Tablets: Multi-User Support: It's just what it sounds like!

Lock-Screen Widgets: at long last!

Swype Keyboard: Type by swyping from letter to letter, escape the ol' poke-poke method.

Quick Settings: Swipe down from the top right corner (tablet, also, on tablets, swipe down from top left from for notifications, vs the bottom right tap in older versions) or with two fingers from the top (phones) to get basic settings.

Completely redesigned camera: much cooler/clutter free UI.

Photo Sphere: 360° all direction panorama à la street view.

LG Google Nexus 4 is here...for a superb price too

Hey geeks, the long awaited Nexus 4 is finally here! It's made by LG and totally rocks! It boasts a 4.7 inch WXGA (1280x768) Super IPS+, arguably the fastest mobile processor on the market, the beastly quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro (1.5 GHz) with 2 gigs of RAM. The camera has also been upgraded from the Galaxy Nexus' poorly performing 5MP full HD snapper to an 8MP full HD one, which is much better. It also supports NFC and wireless charging which is cool. The price is $300 for 8 gigs and $350 to double the storage and it's UNLOCKED (to get this deal you gotta order the thing from the play store)! That's half the price of other unlocked high-ends (the iPhone 5 starts at 700 bucks, for example. However, there are some minor issues (some may be due to the beta release of Android 4.2 and will probably be fixed by the time the smartphone goes on sale), so I suggest reading some reviews.

iPad Mini and a Truckload More!

Hey, CyberPoodle here, and yeterday, Apple announced their long awaited iPad Mini! Actually it's basically a giant iPod Touch 5G, same Dual Core A5 chip (Sorry fellas, No A5X, A6 or A6X), same 5MP full HD iSight Camera (an edge over the Nexus 7), same HD facetime camera, same lightning connector, and extreme thinness and lightness. Now the display is obviously bigger than the iTouch, but smaller than the iPad, besting out at 7.9". Sorry, no Retina Display here as it bears iPad 1's and 2's XGA (1024x768) IPS LCD Panel. There's also an LTE version (another edge over the Nexus 7 there), and it starts at $300 for the 16GB Wi-Fi Only model. It runs iOS 6 (obviously) with Siri.

They also announced the iPad 4(!) a bit soon, with a new super duper A6X processor (besting all other iOS devices) and a lightning connector. 'Tsit! Yeah a bit disappointing but it's something. They also unveiled their 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display (a bit late), which is essentially a smaller 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. And finally there's the new razor thin iMac (no Retina Display, unfortunately), with a faster processor and more storage and less reflective screen.

Transformer Prime and Possibly other Tablets get Simultaneous Video and Photo Capture

Hey Geeks! CyberPoodle here. Today I was shooting this random video on my Transformer Prime (running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean), and saw this video capture icon. I gave it a tap, and it took a pic while I was shooting the video. I bet it probably came with the JB update, as it was absent in ICS. It's probably available on other JB tablets and smart phones (if they happen to have the stock camera that is). It's really awesome! Try it out!

Apple Sends Out Invitations for Next Event, Possibly for the iPad Mini

Hi CyberPoodle here. Apple's got a little more to show us. Yesterday, the tech giant sent out invitations for their next big event, which will be on October 23rd, starting at 10a.m. It will be in California Theatre, San Jose. The star of the show is expected to be the long awaited iPad Mini, although there could, quite possibly, be some cool new Retina Display Macs unveiled. So what do you think? Are you excited? Or do you boo Apple?

Microsoft: Go Mad Marketing!

Hey, CyberPoodle here. OK. I know this sounds crazy, but please try to explain that to Microsoft. Apparently, a guy from there put wheels on his surface tablet and started riding it as a skateboard, to show off how tough it is! He even snapped a few pix (above). Now all they need to do is make a commercial and start selling attachable wheels! Your tablet will be able to transform into a skateboard! How cool (or just plain messed) is that, huh?

How to Make Your Light Switch 'Touch Sensitive'

Okay, Cyberpoodle's back. Today I'll be giving you a tutorial of how to make your light switch 'touch sensitive'. It's super duper easy. Just get it stuck right between on and off mode (maybe either slightly closer to off or to on) then touch the opposite side (like you'd touch your smartphone, and don't be too gentle either). Keep tapping, and as you tap, it should turn on or off every tap. Awesome right? You can easily impress your friends as well.

Organizing, Washing, Buying Socks. There's an app for that!

Yup, there is. No matter how ridiculous that sounds, there is. Hi, it's CyberPoodle, here to bring you the tech news. The app is called Blacksocks, and it's on the App Store (sorry fellow Android users). The app is made by a Swiss sock brand called, you guessed it, Black-socks! Here's how it works: Black-socks apparently have micro chips in their socks(!?). The app scans the chips and tells you every single detail about the footwear. How many times it's been washed, which two are a pair, and even when it's a good time to buy some new ones (read: a clever new marketing strategy). So what do you think? Awesome? Stupid? Useless? Cool but weird?

Android 4.2 and New Nexus Rumors!

Hello geeks! CyberPoodle's here, now bringing you the freshest rumors about, you guessed it, Android 4.2! Now according to some sources, it's due within the next month or two, together with a new Nexus stratergy that involves Google allowing multiple Nexuses by multiple brands. Now there is some proof that the info below is true: Some  Galaxy Nexuses, Nexus 7s, Motorola Occam's (code name for Razr devices,  could be a 'Motorola Razr Nexus') and Motorola Manta's (close to a code name for the Xooms, could be a new 'Motorola Nexus' tablet)  Now the rumored features for Android 4.2 (Could be Key Lime Pie-not necessarily) are:
1.Project RoadRunner- Remember how in Jelly Bean Project butter was meant to make all the operations Buttery smooth (and it did, fellas, it did). Well, Project Roadrunner is supposed to boom battery life. I think it's cool, especially how it's kind of a follow up to Project Butter.
2. Customization center-Now here we get to the juicy, geeky stuff-you'll now be able to get themes for parts of (launchers, icons, backgrounds, languages, ringtones and so on) the entire OS (FINALLY!), including the manufacturer's UX if you buy one of the rumored Nexuses!
3. Video App Overhaul-Need we say more?
4. Play Store Upgrade-The title speaks for itself.
5. Google Now Improvements-I really like Google Now on my Jelly Bean running tablet. Yet I find some features sorely missing.
However I just got Jelly Bean (Expect our review soon!) on my device, but many less fortunate Android owners are just receiving Ice Cream Sandwich (which, you gotta admit, is taking a really long time to roll out). Jelly Bean was enough to get these guys frustrated but 4.2 (Key Lime Pie if you like) very soon is gonna drive 'em nuts!

First Smartphone that's Operational with a Banana!

Hi again geeks! CyberPoodle's back with today's crazy news! Many of you techies have probably heard that Nokia is loosing market share rapidly, and their Windows Phone 8 flagship is probably their last shot at getting back in the game. And this deciding flagship is the Nokia Lumia 920. You also probably know that it has this super sensitive touch screen, amongst many other new technologies. So sensitive, that you can operate it with a banana or fork (although you obviously have to hold the banana or fork)! And Nokia actually advertises the banana operation! In the videos, this actually gets demoed. Also check out the picture above. Now the concern about pocket dialing obviously arises, but Nokia tells us this won't occur. However, this has to be proven before we can believe it.

Apple Maps

Hello all,

Looking at extremetech.com and found this hilarious picture. Well I see CB has already told you about the glitches but what he didn't say is that the statue of liberty is flat, and some Chicago skyscapers are supposedley .........Gas stations?
Here is the pic

Tom Bambadil

Ok so all you lord of the rings geeks know who Tom Bombadil is for those of you who dont he is an utterly usless character. I dont know how J.R.R Tolkein came up with him. Who imagines hobos who sing there heads off and live in the middle of the forest, Not that J.R.R is a wacked character(He is still awsome) but I do not think he needed to write 2 chapters on him.

Google Maps for iOS NOT Submitted!?

CyberPoodle returns with today's breaking news! A few days ago Google Maps for iOS was put for submission on the App Store, to save y'all who are having many of the issues (read our previous article ( for more on that). And you know what? It wasn't submitted. Awful news for y'all Apple fans. But I don't understand why. Their revenue could've increased, sucking those drivers or explorers in. Yeah, I guess they might want to make people use their app. Any other ideas to why? At least you've got Bing (with Maps) (though I'm not sure Apple fans will be too thrilled about that (read: made by Microsoft).

iPhone 5 FEVER, MADNESS X INFINITY

Hey geeks, CyberPoodle's back w/ today's CRAZY news! The iPhone 5 was just released yesterday in 9 countries, and people went absolutely INSANE. In London, you had to pay just to get in line! Prices ranged from 70 pounds at the very back to about 1000 (!) at the front, which is more than the iPhone itself! In Tokyo line-ups were a few blocs long while in New York, people made camps around the store a few days earlier, and in Sydney, about 600 people were in front of the Apple Store and they had to set a limit of no more than 2 iPhone 5's/person!!! So what do you think? Were/are you involved? Will you wait to get it? Are you getting it at all?

AND GANDALF YOUR PUNCTUATION IS ACTUALLY WORSE THAN LEGO LESS', EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE CRITICIZING HIM!

You shall not pass scam!

So all you Lord of the Rings geeks know that in the movie Gandalf says to the Balrog "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" in the mines of Moria. But all you true Lord of the Rings geeks know that is a SCAM! Yeah you heard me right a scam. According to the book Gandalf says "YOU CANNOT PASS!". so that proves the writer of the Lord of the Rings screenplay did not what so ever read the books thoroughly or thought for some bizzare reason that sounds better. I myself have to agree that it does sound better BUT it is technically incorrect. It is preposterous that the writer had the nerve to take such a good line and change it. What do you think is better "You shall not pass" or "You cannot pass"

iOS 6 Released, Apple Maps Are BRUTAL(solution), No YouTube App(solution

Hey geeks, iOS 6 was released just released to the public. The supported devices are: iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 (5-pre-loaded), iPad 2&3, iTouch 4g&5g (5g-pre-loaded). Oh, and did I mention the new and 'epic' Apple Maps are a complete fail? And you can't downgrade w/o JailBreaking and voiding your warranty? As you might know, Apple has been using Google Maps since iOS came out, but now they've made their own Maps app. Well, that new Maps gives you lots of bugs, errors, misspellings and wrong locations. For all the bugs click here. Great! Can I Google Maps back? Yup! Go to the Google Maps website on your iDevice's Safari app. A bubble should pop up from your share button telling you that you can install the Google Maps app by adding a shortcut on your Home Screen. Tap that 'Share' button in your Safari Menu, and select 'Add to Home Screen'. Done! Of course, you have to know that this isn't as convenient as a native app (which Google has submitted for approval to the App Store, so it's not out yet) Alternatively, you can also download Bing (with Maps) and some others from the App Store. But pains don't stop here. There's no pre-loaded YouTube app anymore! Surprise! To get it back, just download it from the App Store. So are you/did you upgrade(ing)? Did those solutions work fine for ya?

Muscle Fight: Contender 2

Hi again, CyberPoodle here! And here is the second contender for the Processor muscle fight! The Motorola Razr i(ntel). Yes, intel. They and Motorola just (i.e. today) announced the 2GHz (yay!) single-core (boo!) (the extra clock speed should compensate for the single core though) mobile Intel Atom processor (ARM) powering the Motorola Razr i. The other specs of the phone are pretty much identical to its Snapdragon S4 Powered sibling; the Razr M (Android Ice Cream SandwichqHD Super AMOLED Screen, 1 GB of RAM, 5GB of user storage w/ MicroSD, 8MP full HD rear cam and a front facing one and, but no LTE (the fastest it has is HSDPA+). So, who do you think is the winner of this Muscle Fight? We'll send you the results when we get enough votes!

Muscle Fight: Contender 1

Hey geeks, CyberPoodle's back with our first ever Muscle Fight where we put two powerful processors and their homes against each other! And you know what's even better? You guys decide who the winner is, and we give you the results! a.k.a., a poll from comments! Our first contender is the Quad-Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (which is supposed to be the fastest SoC yet (According to benchmarks) and also the first LTE supporting quad-core chipset) housed by the LG Optimus G smartphone. The LG Optimus G is the first device sporting that beastie (excluding the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Development tablet which isn't available for the public, despite its awesomeness. Sorry!) . It has Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 1280x768 4.7" Super IPS screen, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320 GPU, 13mp full HD rear cam, front cam, 32GB of internal storage and LTE. So do you like the Processor? How about the phone? Stay tuned to discover the second contender...

How to Install Flipboard on your Android Tablet

Hey geeks, CyberPoodle here. When you try to download flipboard via the google play store on your android tablet,  This nasty sign comes up saying "your device isn't compatible with this version". But guess what! There's a workaround! Pay attention to the last two words. You guessed it! There is an older version compatible. That's the beta (which I found surprisingly stable). Okay, but how do you get it?

First click here on your Android tablet. When you click , your download automatically starts.

You then click the app in your notifications.

Click install and wait a minute.

Finally, click "open" or "done".

Easy! If it Asks you to update, let it. I have tested this four times and it works. And yes, this is Directly from Flipboard's site. Also, I ran a security scan with avast and it was fine. So how did it go? Any other tips you have?

Hey everybody,
I was down visiting the EPL (Edmonton Public Library) squared last week and was trying out some tablets. My favorite was the Asus slide. It was so cool it made me want to sell my tablet and buy it! The only down side is it has honeycomb.
Here are the links the the epl thing and the slide

Pretty Little Slates

Yeah, it's me, CyberPoodle again. Tablets are amazing, they're the future. Which is your favorite tablet? Go iPad go or Yeah, android, you'all beat 'em all? Or perhaps: crush 'em Windows 8! Again, we'll do a count and post ya the results. My preference? Well, it's tough to choose. I really like the new iPad, but the Envy x2 is really awesome too. The Pad Infinity rocks as well. These are kind of my top three. So send those votes and see ya soon!

Clash of the Laptops

Why hi again ya geeks! CyberPoodle again. I love laptops. They're powerful, portable and have a lot of different designs. What's your favorite laptop? Why? At the end we'll do a count to see which laptop you guys think is awesomest, and post ya the results! How cool is that, huh! Mine is the MacBook Pro w/ retina display (yes, I prefer Mac OS X vs Windows, but android over iOS, and I won't blame you if you think it's weird!). That screen, processor, razor thin and light design not to mention flash storage and Mountain Lion just make the thing a sweet one! MacBook Pro

Next Nexus-Boss or Not

Why hi again Ya geeks of the world! CyberPoodle here again. Man, am I pumped about the next Nexus (Are you?), a true iPhone 5 competitor (probably gonna be better than iP5)! What are some of the features you'd like to see? What name Do you want? (I think Nexus Z would be nice) Do you even like Nexuses? Let me give you some ideas For cool stuff the next Nexus should get: insanely fast quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2 gigs o' RAM (to make it the fastest smartphone ever), RGB matrix sub-pixel arrangement (vs Sammy-esque Pentile), Stylus, Super thin and light, super boss camera (gnexus camera-not pretty) and premium build, no cheap plastic (I'm glaring at you, gnexus). Oh, and guys, you don't need to be realistic! Who can resist overkill?

People go crazy when it comes to the iPhone 5!!!

Why hello there y'all geeks! CyberPoodle here. So do you like the new iPhone 5? I do (unlike Lego less who hates it). But it needs NFC! Also, they could've made it look way better if they had a silver rim, like the 4 and  the 4(almost)S(ame). Ya hear Apple! How  'bout this for a cool fact:  The iPhone 5 Pre-orders sold out in under an hour! Madness!!! Amazed? What if I tell you that people pre-ordered the iP5 from some Chinese dudes before it was even announced! That's INSANE!!! I can't believe how excited, trusting and crazy people are when it comes to new & shiny iStuff! Were you one of the people who contributed to one of these crazy causes? If ya did way to go! Man, I wonder how many fights there'll be on the day the thing lands in stores! So what's the next gizmo you're most excited 'bout in the vast world o' tech! Me? Well probably the next Nexus! iPhone 5
