Ubuntu for Phones is Here!

Hey guys, the countdown on Ubuntu's site is up, and in it's place is a banner for Ubuntu for phones!!! They have it running on a Galaxy Nexus and it looks AWESOME. It has a lot of swiping gestures and will run web apps as if they were native. It features quick multitasking and has something like actionable notifications in Android (I smell lawsuit). The lock screen looks boss too. The full unveiling will be at CES next week. So far, there's no hardware for it, and I don't think it'll run on existing devices w/o some cracking (though I wish otherwise). Check it out yourself: http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/phone

How to install Mozilla Firefox OS in Under a 5 mins!

Ah, Firefox OS, Mozilla's (budget-centric) mobile OS. That's cute & all but, I bet you're itching to try it on your PC/Mac. I'm also betting you want it to be easy-peasy and painless, and what's easier than just installing an add-on in the Firefox Browser? And now, I'll show you how to do this.  First you wanna make sure that you have the Firefox browser on your Mac/PC, since the simulator is actually a Firefox add-on. I'll be using my Dell PC for this demo.

1. Launch the Firefox Browser
2. Go to this link (in Firefox) and select the OS your computer is running (Windows, Linux or Mac OS X)
3. Click "Allow" when it tells you that the site is installing software on to your computer, and it blocked it. It should start downloading
4. When it's done downloading, click Install
5. That's it! To access, go to Menu>Web Developer>Firefox OS Simulator
6. To run, click the "Stopped" Button. It should change to "Running" and launch the Simulator in a new window.

Enjoy! Hope this article helped you!
